Australia Super funds OMS EMS

Few interesting chats with firms in Australia.  OMS and EMS is a warm topic but one that will heat up... 
Why?  In short, mandatory 12% of salary contributions to Superannuation (personal defined contribution pension fund) means that there is a wall of money to invest on a monthly basis.  The investible universe of Australian equity, fixed income, property is simply not large enough to support that wall of money.  Hence two trends:
  1. Superannuation funds insourcing investment management (historically they gathered money from investors and passed onto specialised asset managers, now many are building internal asset management capability).
  2. Superannuation funds needing to create capability to manage portfolios and to execute orders on an international basis.
